A technical advice for GMC owners: Don't be fooled by the ratings... My experience with "the deception of the ban and computer sabotage."
Brothers, this announcement is for public benefit and to clear my conscience. Programming is a trust, and an expert programmer is one who protects the car systems and guides the client correctly, not someone who exploits the client's lack of experience to make their car a field of experiments.
The beginning of the story (model conflicts and the approval trap):
My car is a GMC imported from America, model 2009. I went to the programmer to disable the VVT. When he checked the car, he found that the file on it was actually for model 2011. I told him that the "fuel tank" and "starter" are different and match model 2007, and instead of adjusting the stable file (2011) manually, he suggested downloading the entire file for model 2007.
Due to my technical ignorance at that moment and my trust in him as the "expert" knowing his work, I agreed to his suggestion, and the result was catastrophic:
- Fuel gauge and speedometer malfunction: The gauge became (zero) and the speed was imaginary (255 km/h) while the car is stationary!
- Gear thumping: Strong hits in the gear due to the conflict between the old engine file (2007) and the modern gear computer.
- Confusion in "patching": When I confronted him, he calmly said: “Honestly, I’m surprised too!” Then he tried to fix the error by copying gear tables from model 2010 and placing them on file 2011 just to make the car run!
The major disaster (locking the ECM computer):
The matter didn’t stop at bad programming; now I can’t pull the ECM file or read it; because of his tampering with the operating systems (OS Swap) and incorrectly swapping files, the computer has become locked or programmatically damaged, preventing any other programmer from accessing it and fixing it, which could cost me a complete computer replacement for the car!
Deception of the ban (see the attached photos):
Why does he have a (5-star) rating on Haraj? The truth is in the photos:
The programmer uses the "block" feature as soon as he encounters a technical problem he doesn't know how to solve, preventing the client from responding to his ad (as clearly shown in red in the photos).
This ban prevents those affected from documenting their experiences and rating him, thus keeping his page looking "clean" to new customers while the reality is the avoidance of responsibility.
In summary:
Even if you agreed to the programmer's suggestion out of ignorance, remember that his responsibility as a technician is to warn you of the consequences, not to entrap you and then be surprised. A professional programmer does not mix files from different models (2007, 2010, 2011) in one car and then escape with a ban.
(Note: Names in the photos have been obscured to comply with publishing policies, and the aim is to caution against the "wrong working method" and evading responsibility).
