Almond seedlings

Almond Bajli or Almond Hasawi Terminalia catappa is a huge evergreen or semi-deciduous tree known for its abundant shade and crooked branches that form a natural canopy, reaching a height of 25-35 meters, with a thick, flat-topped trunk and drooping horizontal branches that form shaded layers, and its bark is grayish-brown and cracked with age. Its leaves are large (15-25 cm long), broadly ovate or fan-shaped, shiny green in color that turns red or orange before falling in the dry seasons, and arranged in whorls at the tips of the branches. Its flowers are small and inconspicuous, greenish-white or pale yellow in color, gathered in long clusters (10-15 cm), appearing in spring or early summer. It has flat oval fruits (5-7 cm), resembling almonds, green in color that turns purple when ripe, inside which is a hard, edible seed resembling table almonds in taste, which is used in food and traditional medicine. It is considered one of the tropical trees that tolerate harsh conditions such as salty winds and drought, making it ideal for planting in coastal areas and public gardens.
