Mushafs from King Fahd Complex in Medina
Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
The correct view is that it is permissible to sell the Mushaf and it is valid based on the principle, which is permissibility. Muslims have continued to do so until today. If we had prohibited its sale, it would have prevented people from benefiting from it, because most people are stingy about giving it to others. If they have some piety and give it, they give it reluctantly. If we told everyone that if you are not in need of the Mushaf, you must give it to others, it would be difficult for many people.
And he, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
Selling and buying the Mushaf is permissible and there is no harm in it. Muslims have continued to buy and sell Mushafs without objection. The Mushaf cannot spread among people except by permitting its sale and purchase or by lending it to those who do not need it, as mentioned by some scholars.
