Its main function is to purify diesel fuel, heavy fuel oil (HFO), and lubricating oils from water and solid impurities to protect engines and equipment from wear and tear. 🔺Main Components of the System: - The Centrifuge/Separator: The blue circular piece in the middle with the conical silver cover, inside which is the "Disc Stack" that rotates at a very high speed. - Electric Motor: Rotates the spindle via belts or gears to reach the required speed. - Control Panel: The gray box mounted on the top right, containing a processor (like an EPC system) for programming and monitoring separation processes, and controlling automatic sludge discharge. - Feed Pump: To push the dirty oil from the tank into the separator at a constant pressure and flow. - Piping & Valves: Includes flexible, high-temperature resistant pipes for transferring dirty oil, clean oil, and discharged water. - Skid/Base: Gathers all parts into a single compact unit for easy transportation and installation. 🔺How the System Works: The principle relies on the difference in density between the materials (oil, water, and solid impurities) and multiplying the effect of gravity thousands of times using centrifugal force. - Oil Entry: Dirty oil (after being heated to reduce its viscosity) is pumped into the center of the bowl from the top. - High-Speed Rotation and Separation: The bowl rotates at speeds up to thousands of RPM. Due to centrifugal force: - Solid impurities and sediment (heavier): Are thrown directly to the outer wall of the bowl (Sludge Space). - Water (medium density): Collects in a layer following the impurities and exits through the water discharge port. - Clean oil (lighter density): Moves towards the center and rises through the stacked discs, which increase separation efficiency, and is then pumped out as completely clean oil. 🔺Self-Cleaning (Self-Cleaning): Modern systems of this type do not require manual opening for cleaning; instead, valves at the bottom of the bowl open automatically for a short period (called a sludge discharge) to eject accumulated dirt into the sludge tank without stopping the machine.
