Its most important features:
Very smooth surface: Excellent for painting, shaping, and veneering.
Easy to work with: Easy to cut and engrave with CNC machines without chipping.
Economical: Very cheap price compared to natural wood.
Its most common uses:
Bedrooms, TV tables, wall decorations, and interior doors (in dry areas only).
Standard board dimensions:
The most common size: 244 x 122 cm (8 x 4 feet).
Larger special sizes are available, such as: 280 x 207 cm.
Thicknesses:
Ranges from 3 mm to 30 mm.
The most used in furniture: 6 mm (for back panels and drawers), 9 mm, 12 mm, 18 mm (the standard for wood frames and cabinets), and 25 mm.
Density:
The density of standard MDF ranges between 600 to 800 kg/m3. (This density makes it heavier than natural wood like pine).
